Twitter brutally punished Donald Trump for this dumb thing he said about climate change

Donald Trump believes in two incredibly stupid ideas: the first is that vaccines cause autism, and the second is that massive amounts of snow and extreme cold weather disprove global warming.

Even the staunchest conservatives are having to acknowledge that climate change is a real phenomenon – they’re just holding out on the fact that it’s linked to human behavior.

The beautiful thing about Trump is that he voices his ignorance loudly, and often. In a tweet he fired off on Valentine’s Day, he regurgitated that old fallacy that uses singular weather events as a way to refute the climate change model.

Of course, there are always the loyal Trump bots that he’s cultivated in the last two election cycles who’ll bow at his every word. But the majority of responses to his dumbness in 140 characters-or-less amounted to outright mockery.

But this tweet thread has a winner, and it was this fellow:

Well, I know the founders of both the Weather Channel and Greenpeace don’t confirm that man is destroying our climate. There must be a reason. Where is the proof that man makes more than 7% of annual carbon dioxide, or all CO2 makes more greenhouse effect than all that water vapor? I’m sorry so many people are so pulled in by this “climate action” business, and who knows what new dangerous governmental changes may one day be the result?

Here’s all of the information about how man causes climate changes from multiple sources:

    http://www.economist.com/blogs/economist-explains/2014/11/economist-explains

    http://www.epa.gov/climatechange/ghgemissions/gases/co2.html

    http://www.ucsusa.org/global_warming/science_and_impacts/science/human-contribution-to-gw-faq.html#.VOGIMrDF8pA

    http://ossfoundation.us/projects/environment/global-warming/human-caused

    http://www.edf.org/climate/human-activity-is-causing-global-warming

But even someone with a basic understanding of science can understand this because if you cut down trees, then those trees can no longer take in CO2 to transform into oxygen. CO2 causes global warming through the greenhouse effect. The earth was never meant to have trees cut down as quickly as we cut them down, so of course it’s going to cause an imbalance. We also cause CO2 in other ways–car exhaust, factories, power plants…which are all unnatural to the earth. I’m not saying we should stop cutting down trees. At the very least, we need something to counteract the effects we have caused.

Let’s play that game. Go with it – if we decided to go with healthier living and stop polluting as much as we can just for spits n giggles, why would that be bad? There are just as many jobs to be had and we would all be healthier for it. So instead of wasting your time fighting it, how about you waste it living without smog clouds?

Wow Mark you are a dull tool!!
    Who owns the Weather channel?
NBC owns 25%, the rest is owned by Blackstone group and Bain Financial…

So do you think the 2 owners that control 75% of the Weather Channel are not conservative organizations??

    You are sofa king lame…
Go jump in front of a train Mark, the world will likely become a better place without you as part of it..

Weather channel was founded by a conservative weatherman ( John Coleman) who is a journalist that has absolutely no background in science.. The other founder was Frank Batten, an ultra-conservative media mogul…

Guess what? The founders of the Weather Channel and Greenpeace ARE NOT scientists. The Weather Channel founder are business people, members of the one percent. And Greenpeace are basically radical activists. They don’t conduct on-going studies on climate. Are you kidding me?!

I would like to point out to deadstate that denial of climate change could potentially be MORE dangerous than anit-vax. At least with anti-vax, we can come up with alternate solutions. With global warming, if we don’t change, our planet will become so saturated with CO2 that our planet will essentially become a copy of Venus. At that point, no one survives to come up with clever solutions.

NEWS FLASH!! THERE IS DOCUMENTED PROOF OF CLIMATE CHANGE….4 TIMES A YEAR.

Really ignorant to go along with the Al Gores who have made a scandalous amount of money using climate change as a profit motive. The USA’s contribution is far less than it use to be, and china will never adapt. They are waiting 15 years to even consider it….and this is a great negotiation with China. Get a clue Sky.

The only reason he says he’s running for prez is to get the free publicity from the media. When the rubber meets the road and actually has to campaign he decides to not run. Keeps that apprentice show of his in the lights.

Don’t forget that all of those trees, oil reserves, etc., once destroyed release that carbon that they once took out of the atmosphere. Oh, and the cows.

China is ahead of us in taking steps to fight climate change, and we will have to do a lot more.
If 98% of all scientists tell you a bridge will collapse if you go on it, and 2% tells you its safe, which group are you going to listen to?

Not too intelligent are you Bill? China is way ahead of us on efforts to combat climate change, their peak use was predicted to be 25-35yrs down the road, but they’ve been able to scale that back to just 15yrs. Considering they’ve got more than 3x our population with an economy that has been witnessing massive growth that is amazing progress. On a side note the only people I ever see bring up Al Gore are stupid people who lack basic science comprehension skills.

NEWS FLASH! Seasons are NOT the same thing as climate change. Our seasons are producing record high low temperatures and abnormal amounts of precipitation or drought. That is evidence of climate change. CO2 emissions are measurable – we know that the sudden release of so much CO2 is caused by us. We are releasing CO2 at a pace and amount too fast for the planet to process, so lots of it gets left over in the atmosphere. This causes atmospheric changes, which cause long term climate change. Climate change is a natural phenomenon that we humans are speeding up unnaturally fast. This accelerated pace leaves the environment that helped humans flourish in the first place very little time to adjust which could potentially destroy many ecosystems that help us maintain life as we know it and love it. It’s really not that hard to understand.

Check every study that denies climate change and you’ll find that the funding came from those who benefit financially from climate change denial.

Mr. Trump is absolutely correct on both counts. The article’s statement that “even staunch conservatives are having to admit that climate change is real” is untrue. Some have jokingly stated that it is only true in that the weather has been changing since time began… it is called seasons. As to the vaccines causing autism… there are many in the medical community that agree with
the possibility, and studies have shown it may do so. While many may choose to stick their heads in the sand and deny it, statistics and facts can be stubborn things… they just keep coming back to shout the truth. Just because Twitterites, media heads, and comedy show hosts like to ignore and loudly proclaim their ignorance of it, doesn’t mean Truth is invalid or unreal.

Woah! I’m really enjoying the template/theme of this blog. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s challenging to get that “perfect balance” between user friendliness and visual appeal. I must say you have done a great job with this. In addition, the blog loads extremely quick for me on Internet explorer. Outstanding Blog!
