Woman confronts Florida Governor Rick Scott at Starbucks: ‘You’re an a**hole! You don’t care about working people’

This Tuesday, footage surfaced of Florida Governor Rick Scott at a Starbucks in Gainesville being heckled by a customer who clearly wasn’t happy with Scott’s time as governor.

Local resident Cara Jennings recognized Scott while he was in line waiting to order coffee and thought that she should give him a piece of her mind.

“You cut Medicaid so I couldn’t get Obamacare,” shouted Jennings. “You’re an a**hole. You don’t care about working people. You should be ashamed to show your face around here.”

Scott responded to Jennings by saying that he “created 1 million jobs,” prompting Jennings to look around the coffee shop, asking, “Where?”

Scott then decided to bail without any coffee as Jennings accused him of denying vital healthcare to women.

“Shame on you Rick Scott! We depend on those services. Rich people like you don’t know what to do! When poorer people like us need services you cut them. Shame on you Rick Scott! You’re an embarrassment to our state!”

ABC Action News talked to Jennings who said, “I didn’t think about whether I should do it or not. I thought, ‘Here’s my chance to tell the governor how I feel about the horrible bill.'”

Jennings said she had recently been reading about Scott signing a bill that cut money to Planned Parent.

Jennings is a stay at home mom from Lake Worth who works part time and knows many people who are fighting for jobs that offer low wages. After her encounter with Scott she said, “A number of people came up to me and thanked me.”

[Update — 4/6/16]:

The woman in the video has been identified as Cara Jennings. She was a city commissioner in Lake Worth for a few years and is a known activist.
