WATCH: GOP congressman gets grilled on opposition to Obamacare during Las Vegas town hall

During a town hall in Las Vegas this weekend, freshman GOP Rep. Joe Heck encountered a tense line of questioning from a constituent, in what seems to be a growing backlash against Republicans for their stark opposition to Obamacare.

The liberal research group, American Bridge 21st Century, released a video that features a small business owner questioning the congressman, asking him why he’d revoke a measure that’s been of great help.

“Why would you oppose the ACA if it was passed by Congress, passed by the Senate, signed by the President, upheld by the Supreme Court and re-affirmed by the reelection of the President of the United States who won your district?” the man asked. “Why would you revoke something that’s helping me now? It’s bending the cost curve and it’s going to bend the cost curve in the future.”

Heck claimed that the law wouldn’t save people money in the future, especially for businesses with upwards of 50 employees.

“The help you’re getting through all those small business tax credits, what are you going to do when those go away?” Heck replied. “They are not there forever.”

“The cost curve is being bent,” the man interjected.

“The cost curve isn’t being bent,” Heck shot back.

“The cost curve is being bent for me,” the man continued.

“You might be the exception. Some people benefit. The vast majority aren’t,” Heck responded.

“Some people benefit. The vast majority aren’t,” Heck responded. I have yet to see a shred of evidence for this statement.

Great comments and question from the guy in the audience. The doublespeak and tap dance by the Rep. is shameful. He, in so many words, said the Republicans were whining because they didn’t get a chance to vote against it? Jeeez, what an idiot.

More of the same old same old from the Teapubs! Don’t back down in the face of actual facts or opposition of any kind, just keep the lie up. They are convinced that if they say it loud enough and often enough not only will people believe it but it will magically come true by virtue of repetition.

Wait… Buying insurance for employees I’ve never bought insurance for is going to increase my costs?! Whoa… Mind blown.
