Norway’s conservative prime minister busted playing Pokémon Go during parliamentary debate

During a debate in Norway’s parliament this Tuesday, Norwegian prime minister Erna Solberg was caught playing the popular phone app game Pokémon Go.

A newspaper published a photo of Solberg playing the game in the Storting (the supreme legislature of Norway).

It’s already well-known that she’s a big fan of the game. During a trip to Slovakia this summer, she took some time out to play the game, telling reporters that she was trying to hatch eggs to “get her hands on the rarest Pokémons, which requires some players to walk as much as 10 kilometres,” according to Norway’s The Local No.

From The Guardian:

This isn’t even the first time a Norwegian politician has been caught playing the game while in parliament.

The leader of Norway’s Liberal party, Trine Skei Grande, was seen playing the game during a meeting on national security back in August, at the height of Pokémon Go-mania.

And who happened to be speaking while the PM attempted to catch ‘em all? None other than Grande herself.

“She heard what I said,” Grande tweeted upon hearing the news. “We ladies can do two things at the same time you know.”

According to Norway’s TV2, Solberg said: “I think that Trine will like that I opened the game while she was at the pulpit.”
