Trump’s frequent trips to Mar-a-Lago hurts the local community: ‘We’re going broke’

According to a report from NBC News, business owners and residents of West Palm Beach, Florida are complaining that President Trump‘s frequent trips to his Mar-a-Lago resort are making their lives miserable.

Due to safety measures implemented by the Secret Service, business owners are seeing a downturn in revenue. NBC says taxpayers of Palm Beach County are on the hook for $1.7 million in extra security, with requests to reimburse the county so far going unanswered.

“We’re basically going broke,” a spokesperson for Southern Helicopter told NBC. “We were not expecting him to come down almost every weekend.”

Stellar Aviation Group President Jonathan Miller estimated that he is losing $30,000 each weekend thanks to the President’s Secret Service restricting flights out of the local airport.

NBC says taxpayers of Palm Beach County are on the hook for $1.7 million in extra security, and the White House has so far ignored requests to reimburse the county.
