A disturbing new video has emerged of the United Airlines passenger who was violently dragged off an overbooked flight against his will, just to make way for a United employee who was on stand-by.
In the video, the visibly-distressed man stands near an exit door and grips a curtain while repeatedly saying, “I have to go home… Just kill me.”

According to the Courier Journal, United offered customers $400 and a hotel room if they volunteered to take a flight the next day at 3pm. When nobody spoke up, United offered $800 and announced that the flight would not leave until passengers gave up their seats for four United employees who were on stand-by. When that didn’t work, a manager allegedly told passengers that a computer would select four of them to be removed.

Update: United Airlines CEO Oscar Munoz issued an apology for the incident to Twitter, which some felt was a bit tone-deaf:
