Indiana GOP’s call for Obamacare ‘horror stories’ backfires spectacularly

This Monday, the Indiana Republican Party asked Facebook users to send in their bad experiences with Obamacare, but were instead flooded with people praising the law and the positive impact it’s had on their lives.

“We were promised Obamacare would make healthcare cheaper, better, and more available, but in reality it’s turned out to be the opposite,” the Indiana Republican party wrote in a Facebook post. “What’s your Obamacare horror story? Let us know.”

Soon after the post went up, the comment thread began to fill up with people praising the Affordable Care Act.

“My sister finally has access to affordable quality care and treatment for her diabetes,” one commenter wrote.

“My father’s small business was able to insure its employees for the first time ever. #thanksObama,” wrote another.

And the praiseful comments kept coming:

“The only horror in the story is that Republicans might take it away.”

“A black guy gave health insurance to millions of Americans!!! The Horror!! The horror!!!”

From The Hill:

The state GOP’s push to highlight the Affordable Care Act’s downfalls comes at a time when the Senate Republicans are working to get their own healthcare bill passed in the upper chamber.

The measure, known as the Better Care Reconciliation Act, repeals and replaces key provisions of ObamaCare and includes deep cuts to Medicaid.

An analysis by the Congressional Budget Office revealed 22 million more Americans would lose healthcare insurance over the next decade if the Senate bill is passed.
