Andy Serkis, who played the character “Gollum” in the Lord of the Rings series, appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert this Tuesday night, and things got political in a bizarre way.
Colbert, who is a huge LOTR fan, asked Serkis if he would read President Trump’s tweets in Gollum’s voice, and Serkis happily obliged.

Hearing Serkis say “the fake news media has never been so wrong” in the voice of Gollum is pretty disturbing. Let’s just hope it doesn’t start a World War. I can just picture Trump ordering strikes on New Zealand because he thinks that’s where Gollum lives or something.
“I gotta say, they actually sound better that way,” Colbert quipped.
Serkis was on the show to promote his new Planet of the Apes movie.
