According to reports, former President Jimmy Carter has been hospitalized after he collapsed while working on a Habitat for Humanity construction site near Winnipeg, Canada.
NBC News says Carter is being treated at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg with his wife, Rosalynn Carter at his side.
Carter was reportedly leading a prayer session Thursday morning at the site, which is part of a “blitz” of new homes in Canada from his favorite charity, The Hill reports. Well wishers which include former President George H.W. Bush and wife Barbara Bush sent Carter, said, “God bless him, and we hope he is fine.”

A Habitat volunteer told CBC News he saw Carter, 92, collapse after he’d been working in the sun for about an hour, using a handsaw to cut wood for a staircase.
Carter’s bodyguards rushed over and carried him to a nearby vehicle. Shortly afterwards, firefighters and paramedics were seen scrambling, and an ambulance arrived.
The media was pushed back from the view of Carter before the ambulance left the site, followed immediately by his motorcade.

Carter revealed in August of 2015 that he would undergo radiation treatment for several melanoma spots on his brain and liver. Later that month, Carter began a new drug, known as Keytruda, that had shown promising results in other patients. “I’ll be prepared for anything that comes,” he said at the time. In December of 2016, Carter announced that MRI scans showed him to be cancer free.
Carter, who is now 92, is reportedly is “feeling fine” after the collapse thanks to being treated for dehydration.
“He encourages everyone to stay hydrated and keep building,” a spokesperson for CBC News said.
