The guy featured on that Trump dating website’s homepage is a convicted pedophile

The man whose face appeared on the homepage for a dating site designed for Trump supporters has a past conviction for having sex with a 15-year-old and videotaping it, N.C. news outlet WRAL reports.

Barret Riddleberger appeared with his wife Jodi on the homepage of Trump.Dating until just a few days ago when the site found out about his 1995 conviction for videotaping himself having sex with a 15-year-old. He was 25-years-old at the time.

“I’ve already paid my debt for something I did 25 years ago,” Riddleberger told WRAL.

The Riddlebergers, who have been married for 22 years, are active in their town’s political scene. WRAL reports that Jodi founded a Tea Party PAC called Conservatives for Guilford County.

From VICE News:

The Trump-lovers dating site, which incorporates the president’s hairstyle in its logo, says it’s “giving like-minded Americans a chance to meet without the awkwardness that comes with the first conversation about politics.”

It’s not clear who runs the site — the Riddlebergers won’t say what exactly their role is — but it operates under a collection of sites known as “Friends Worldwide” that use a template for creating a niche matchmaking service, for a base fee and at least a 50 percent cut of the site’s income. Users pay $24.99 a month.

A feature of the site that allows a new user to select “happily married” or “unhappily married” as a status in their profile is being fixed, according to Riddleberger.

The dating site requires that users be heterosexual. Riddleberger’s criminal history is publicly listed on North Carolina’s Department Of Public Safety website.
