…and the nonsense continues with the “My God can beat up your God” silliness. To make it worse, the Allah of Islam IS the God of Abraham. Nothing like showing off one’s ignorance, people!

These thugs are not Christian. If not a deranged individual, and a larger group spurred by fear and anger, the irony is that they aren’t following Christianity, but Islam.

To be clear, I’m not claiming that all Muslims want to kill non-Muslims. Those who do follow their faith definitely do desire that all people submit to Allah/ Mohammad, but to actually kill innocent life is far different than to desire submission or to persecute by taxes, lower standing in society, enslave. And (especially for Sunni) they definitely desire to have Sharia as the only law of the land, in every nation- of which certain groups would fare far worse than others.

However, this has zero to do w/ “your God can beat up my God”, but the ideology we follow unchecked, the allowing pure emotion to control us.

Christianity teaches that every life was created in God’s image & likeness, is loved by God, Who created each live intentionally, and desires for each life to freely chose to Love & trust Him. This means, every life has inherent, priceless value. Every life should be shown love, dignity, respect (regardless how the other may treat you, feel about you)- love doesn’t mean to lie to another, which is a side not, but still very important w/ the subjectivity plaguing the west. The only time an individual could take the life of another (not speaking of state govmt) is to defend ones own life, or the life of another, under actual risk.

Regarding Islam’s God being the God of Abraham.. Yes, this is true. However, their teachings are (& have been for centuries) considered heretical. Their religious beliefs, their description of God, their holy text, is so very different from Christian-Judaeo.

atatakaidanjp: the bigger nonsense is your conclusion that this has anything to do with religion. As always, war is about economics and politics. These people do not care about your spirituality.

The issue, Tom, is that people are calling the violence as part of Islam, when in reality, like you said, this is nothing but about war and politics. It has nothing to do with anybody’s spirituality. If that were the case, then these people who CLAIM to be Muslim would not also be killing Muslims, would they!

Again, it is people USING the claim that it is about religion, and some people actually think it IS when it is not.
