Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on how she’s going to ‘pay for all this’: ‘No one asks how we’re gonna pay for the space force’

Newly minted Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez defended her policies in an interview with 60 Minutes this Sunday.

Not backing down one bit, Ocasio-Cortez declared President Trump be a racist and even seemed to call out her fellow Democrats who have expressed skepticism about her proposals.

According to her, there’s nothing “radical” or revolutionary about her ideas.

“When you can’t provide for your kids working a full-time job, working two full-time jobs. When you can’t have healthcare. That is not dignified,” she told host Anderson Cooper.

Among Ocasio-Cotrez’s policy goals are Medicare-for-all, free tuition at public colleges, and major environmental overhauls.

At one point in the interview, Cooper asked her a question that has dogged her throughout her entire campaign.

“How are you going to pay for all that?” Cooper asked.

“No one asks how we’re going to pay for this Space Force,” she fired back, referring to President Trump’s call for a new branch of the military.

“No one asked how we paid for a $2 trillion tax cut,” she continued. “We only ask how we pay for it on issues of housing, healthcare and education. How do we pay for it? With the same exact mechanisms that we pay for military increases for this Space Force.”

“We pay more per capita in healthcare and education for lower outcomes than many other nations. And so for me, what’s unrealistic is what we’re living in right now,” she added.
