Anonymous: ‘Here are the reasons why we’re endorsing Bernie Sanders for president’

Hacktivist group Anonymous announced Tuesday for their support of Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders in the 2016 Presidential race.

Known for declaring war on ISIS following the terrorist attacks in Paris, Anonymous released the announcement in the form of a list that included ten reasons to vote for the Vermont Senator.

The online collective specifically cited Sanders’ support for a new Glass Steagall act, which prevents commercial banks from taking part in investment banking, and his goal of breaking up powerful big banks.

[Sanders] supports a new Glass Steagall act- hell he even detailed 5 reasons explaining why it’s important; passed over 80 years ago, it had prevented commercial banks from participating in investment banking. It was repealed in 1999, and banks used this new-found ability  to plunder the savings of their depositors by making extremely risky “investments” for their own profit. This is the primary reason for the 2008 financial crisis, and the reason why the big banks had to be bailed out by taxpayers.  Hillary Clinton doesn’t want to reinstate Glass-Steagall while Trump wants regulations on Wall Street to be weakened.

Anonymous applauded Sanders for his stance against over-criminalization, support for the legalization of marijuana, staunch opposition of The Patriot Act (Sanders voted against it twice), his commitment to understanding and serving marginalized groups, and his refusal to accept campaign money in exchange for favors from the ultra rich.

They also cited Sanders’ commitment to the set of ideals and beliefs he has carried throughout his political career, such as his anti-war foreign policy and against the for-profit prison industrial complex.

According to Anonymous, the veritable mainstream media blackout on Bernie Sanders’ campaign only proves his integrity as presidential candidate.

The corporate mainstream media hates Bernie and censors him, attempting to make it look like he endorses Hillary. Trump gets WAY more mainstream coverage than Bernie despite both polling similarly. If you want to choose someone who wasn’t handpicked for you, then Bernie is your best bet.

According to Anon, Sanders’ successful stint as an Independent in a two party system, which generally ignores anyone who does not identify as a Democrat or Republican (which Anonymous refers to as “the left-right false divide”), sets him far apart from the usual “Koch brother” type presidential candidate.
