AOC on Ted Cruz’s snow storm response: ‘Texas was a layover for him between Cancun and CPAC’

Speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) this Friday, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) took aim at Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez — after she raised millions for his winter storm-battered constituents — mocking her for her tweets where she said she feared for her safety during the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, which she says Cruz took part in inciting.

“Just lighten up,” Cruz said. “Especially now, the left, they are shrill, they are angry. How many leftists does it take to screw in a light bulb? That’s not funny. God bless, who would want to be around these people?”

Firing back on Twitter this Sunday, Ocasio-Cortez reminded people of Cruz’s abysmal optics as his fellow Texans froze in an unprecedented winter storm, where he jetted off to Cancun on a family vacation, only to come back after a media firestorm erupted over his absence.

“I don’t care what Cruz said at CPAC, but I do care that it appears Texas was just a layover stop for him between Cancun and Orlando to drop a pack of water into someone’s trunk and abandon his constituents again as they get slammed with $16,000 electrical bills,” she tweeted.
