Christian broadcaster: Elijah Cummings’ death was God’s revenge for his ‘demonic attempt’ to impeach Trump

During an interview with Maryland pastor Stacey Shiflett on his MC Files broadcast this Thursday, far-right conspiracy theorist Chris McDonald posited his theory as to why Democratic Rep. Elijah Cummings unexpectedly passed away this Thursday. According to him, Cummings was on the receiving end of God’s revenge for being too anti-Trump.

“We know the Bible,” McDonald said in a video clip flagged by Right Wing Watch. “You’ve got a leader that has been in office for over 30 years, that opened the door on unfettered abortion in this country. His civil rights icon status was a joke because he did nothing to bring rights to his people; all he did was divide, all he did was play the race card.”

According to McDonald, Cummings’ adversarial actions against President Trump were “demonic.”

“Everything that he’s done has been nothing but trying to take this president out,” he said. “I believe that God had had enough, and God moved.”

Cummings, who was a longtime Baltimore congressman, passed away this Thursday at the age of 68 due to “complications concerning longstanding health challenges.” He was the House Oversight and Reform Committee chairman, a key figure in the impeachment inquiry into President Trump, and a major target of Trump’s criticism.
