Christian radio host: Male students didn’t take down Florida shooter because they’re too ‘effeminate’

There were some amazingly stupid takes from various right-wing media figures in the wake of the mass shooting at a Florida high school that killed 17 people. In the top ten of those taking the cake is conspiracy theorist, “Christian activist,” and broadcaster David Daubenmire.

On his Pass the Salt Live show this Friday, Daubenmire wondered why no one took down gunman Nikolas Cruz during his rampage. According to him, it’s because society reinforces feminism.

Daubenmire said that since we don’t pattern our behavior after God, who is “a man,” we have “effeminate guys” as a result. In regards to what led Cruz down the path to being a mass shooter, “he didn’t have any idea what it meant to be a man,” Daubenmire said.

“This guy walks down the hallway and he starts shooting people … Can somebody tell me why some boy didn’t go tackle him? When his back was turned … why didn’t some wrestler, or some football player, couple football players run and tackle him?”

Later, Daubenmire seemed to suggest Cruz wasn’t up to the task and should have killed more people.

“This guy goes in there with an AR-15 and only 17 people are killed?” he said. “You have any idea how fast you can pull that trigger? Only 17? I don’t want to go down the rabbit hole.”
