There’s a small revolution currently happening on Twitter. Sparked by Christian author Sarah Bessey‘s hashtag #ThingsOnlyChristianWomenHear, women are sharing the sexist things they hear from people within their respective churches.
According to Hermant Mehta of the Friendly Atheist, the tweets are an example of disturbing look into gender roles that permeate the evangelical community.
It’s a disturbing account of how evangelical Christianity sees women. They’re not considered leaders, but background broodmares who are only as good as the husbands they support, the children they pop out, and the words they don’t say.
