Donald Trump Jr’s pathetic Skittles meme just got destroyed by a former Seinfeld writer

Donald Trump Jr. is letting his penchant for white supremacist rhetoric get the best of him again.

Posting on Twitter this Monday night, he shared a meme that compared Syrian refugees to a bowl of Skittles sprinkled with a few that “would kill you.”

With the caption, “This image says it all. Let’s end the politically correct agenda that doesn’t put America first. #trump2016,” the meme read:

“If I had a bowl of skittles and told you just three would kill you. (sic) Would you take a handful?

That’s our Syrian refugee problem.

As expected, rational and empathetic people found his post to be disgusting. Twitter users, including President Obama’s chief speechwriter, Jon Favreau, shared images of Syrians in distress – all of which are very hard to look at. Either way, the backlash drove the point home: Syrians are not skittles.

Even even candy company Mars Inc. responded to Trump Jr.’s gross sentiment:

“Skittles are candy. Refugees are people. We don’t feel it’s an appropriate analogy. We will respectfully refrain from further commentary as anything we say could be misinterpreted as marketing,” the company tweeted.

There’s another response to Trump Jr.’s analogy that’s getting quite bit of attention.

Former Seinfeld writer David Mandel gave his unique refutation of the Skittles meme:

If I had a bowl of skittles and I told you one very orange skittle wanted to deport all the green skittles and called the purple skittles rapists and said that “a lot of skittles are saying” that the skittle president is really an M&M and that same orange skittle was given 1 million dollars by his father and still filed for bankruptcy four times and refuses to release his tax returns because he’s not as rich as he claims to be,

would you elect that orange skittle President of the United States of America?”
