Donald Trump’s campaign manager is in police custody facing battery charges over assault of Breitbart reporter

Donald Trump’s infamous campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, who was captured on video manhandling former Breitbart reporter Michelle Fields, is now in police custody facing battery charges over the incident.

The Jupiter, FL Police Department brought the charges after Lewandowski, Trump, and Fields’ former employer all denied that Lewandowski had even touched her as she tried to question Trump at a rally in early March.

Gawker has published the police report, which clearly contradicts those claims.

Police also released a surveillance video which clearly shows Lewandowski grabbing hold of Fields.

The Trump campaign released the following statement:

Mr. Lewandowski is absolutely innocent of this charge. He will enter a plea of not guilty and looks forward to his day in court. He is completely confident he will be exonerated.

According to reports, Lewandowski has turned himself in to authorities.
