Fox News Guest Suggests Background Checks for Guns Will Include Abortions (VIDEO)

In a bizarre segment on Fox News this Tuesday, a guest warned that the Democrat plan to expand gun background checks would hand more power to the Ku Klux Klan and would even prevent women who have had abortions from owning firearms.

Star Parker, a conservative columnist for Scripps Howard News Service,  told Fox News host Sean Hannity that her ad that linked KKK lynchings to gun control was created because “the Democrats in the Senate are insistent on passing background check laws.”

“I thought it appropriate to remind Americans that we’ve been here before,” she said. “How is it that five percent of the population, the KKK — six million people in a country of more than 100 million — how is it that five percent were able to wreak havoc over four million new citizens, the former slaves? And one of the ways is because they systematically — the Democrats in power, the Democrats in political power in the South — systematically passed gun control laws in black code so that blacks would not be able to exercise their right to bear arms.”

“Do you think that is the motive of some people now?” Hannity asked.

“Come on, these are same Democrats that gave us Obamacare,” Parker replied. “Let me tell you something about this background check discussion that we don’t get to ask about, how do we know what those qualifiers are going to be?”

“Because they’re saying if you’ve had any mental problem in your background, well, does that mean that they’re going to ask questions about abortion?” she added. “Because people who have had abortion, according to studies, have a tendency to have mental challenges later on.”

Star’s assertion that people who have had abortions are more subject to mental health issues is false. A 2008 American Psychological Association task force study found “no credible evidence” that “having a single abortion causes mental health problems.”

More from the party of ignorant lunatics completely out of touch with any semblance of reality. Is anyone seriously not embarrassed to be affiliated with the GOP?

She evidently doesn’t know that the Dems and GOP have crossed lines on the political axis since those days. The Dems she’s talking about are conservatives.

I do think she has a legitimate point in regards to who is going to determine what makes a person mentally unbalanced enough not to own a firearm, even though she framed her proposition in an inflammatory manner. But where do you draw the line to determine who is unstable enough or who is stable enough to handle a deadly weapon? According to a Fox News survey, 52% of Americans are on some kind of psychiatric medication. Who will go door to door to decide who among them can have guns?

“2008 American Psychological Association task force studyfound “no credible evidence” that “having a single abortion causes mental health problems.” This is a true statement. If I don’t look for mud in a mud hole I will never find it. There are plenty of evidence that abortion causes mental health issues. It’s not necessarily to the degree that others realize what the problem is though. My wife has a master degree in psychology and counsel’s women all the time with mental health issues that come on shortly after an abortion. 90% of these women make statements to the effect of, I have never dealt with any thoughts/feelings like this before having an abortion. So while the liberal “pro-choice” (except when it comes to others rights) people say there “no credible evidence” that’s because they are pro-choice. The American Psychological Association has also declared several years ago in a “study” that pedophilia is natural. If that is the case then rape, incest and child porn and homosexuality is natural also.

Pumpkin when a Republican (Doctor) who sits on the Science Community says “Science is a lie from the pits of hell”..and pro-rape republicans say sh*t like this

Republican Todd Akin said “If its a legitimate rape, the female body has ways of shutting the whole thing down”

Republican Steve King said “I have never heard of a child becoming pregnant from rape or incest”

I wont even touch on their religious dementia..their immoral racism, xenophobia and homophobia…

Yeah tea-nuts should avoid science topics…stick to fairy tales of a “better time and place”..lol..

All irrelevant…have you checked out your approval rating…the numbers are important but its the demographics thats the nail in the conservative coffin…..go ahead..lets hear your death rattle

Thoughts and desires occur, often without forethought. As humans though we control what our actions or reactions to these thoughts are. You like that piece of candy, you don’t take it because it doesn’t belong to you or you steal it and suffer the consequence. Leave the psychological commentary to the psychologists, you don’t quite grasp the whole meaning of the statements. Many of the issues were there before the abortion, but the pt was able to ignore them. The abortion created too much of a dissonance for them to continue to ignore.
