Fox Uses Potential Obama Appointee to Resurrect Bogus Charge of Racial Favoritism (VIDEO)

Resurrecting an invented scandal accusing the Obama Administration of taking sides with the New Black Panther Party in a 2008 voter intimidation case, Fox News is using reports that Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Thomas Perez may be nominated as Secretary of Labor to breathe new life into the false story.

Right-wing media has spent years promoting the false charge that President Obama’s Justice Department engaged in racial favoritism in the New Black Panther Party case. Ultimately, the claims that were disseminated by GOP activist J. Christian Adams were debunked in light of the fact that the Obama DOJ obtained judgment against one defendant, while the Bush DOJ declined to pursue similar allegations in 2006.

On a segment for Fox’s America Live, anchor Megyn Kelly said that Obama’s possible appointment has his “fingerprints are all over some rather significant controversies,” which included the New Black Panthers case.
