Fox’s Brain Kilmeade confronts Sarah Sanders over Trump’s Syria withdrawal: ‘He just refounded ISIS’

In a rare rebuke of President Trump‘s policies on his favorite Fox News show, Fox & Friends host Brian Kilmeade confronted White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders over Trump’s sudden and unexpected withdrawal of U.S. troops from Syria, telling her that Trump “refounded ISIS” with the move.

During the interview which took place Friday morning, Kilmeade told Sanders that Trump is “doing exactly what he criticized President Obama for doing.”

“He said President Obama is the founder of ISIS,” Kilmeade said. “He just refounded ISIS because they have 30,000 men there and they are already striking back with our would-be evacuation. The president is really on the griddle with this.”

Sanders pushed back on Kilmeade’s critique, saying that she “respectfully and vehemently” disagreed with his characterization.

“The idea that the president has had anything to do with helping ISIS reemerge is absolutely outrageous,” she countered.

“Leaving is helping,” Kilmeade said while talking over her. “Leaving is helping.”

“If ISIS wants to pick a fight with somebody, they sure as heck don’t want to pick one with Donald Trump because he will destroy them and defeat them,” Sanders said. “He’s made that extremely clear.”
