George Zimmerman agrees to fight in celebrity boxing match coming up in March

George Zimmerman has agreed to participate in a celebrity boxing match, according to a report from WFST-ABC Action News.

The bout is set to take place on March 1 against a not-yet-selected opponent.

TMZ first broke the news of the planned match, which was later confirmed by ABC with the fight promoter. Zimmerman will be donating the fight’s proceeds to charity.

“Boxing isn’t new to me,” Zimmerman told Radar Online. “It’s something I had picked up well before the incident and it’s something that I liked, I enjoyed, and I kept up with it and I was able to lose a tremendous amount of weight and get a healthy lifestyle.”

Not many details on the upcoming bout are available, but Zimmerman has reportedly said he’ll fight anyone of any background.

“We’re not looking at it as a race thing,” the promoter said. ” … We haven’t discussed purple, yellow, white, black.”

Zimmerman was acquitted in July of all charges in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin.

    Suggested slogan for this match:
    “Stand your round”
    #BadDumChing

Something he picked up well before the incident really so he just admitted that he could handle himself in a fist fight with say a younger, skinnier non boxer teenage boy.

But I guess it was easier to throw a bullet, since he already had his hands full with the gun and flashlight.

Perhaps his opponent will feel threatened and shoot his sorry ass. I hope the bout is in Orlando.

Dear Dead State – can you figure out a way to find out who is sponsoring this event (as in advertisers? I’d like to put their products on my boycott list and find a way to spread the word that anyone who supports making a celebrity out of a murderer, spouse abuser, will not profit from it.

I’m ashamed that anyone would consider this nobody murderer a celebrity. Just because he got off doesn’t make him any less of one. It’s absolutely shameful that society and media are telling young adults that murdering someone is a way to become a celebrity, especially when there is a gun violence epidemic in this country, already.

I’m ashamed of the company and sponsors for supporting this man in any way. I will be on the look out for who is funding this mess, and boycotting them.

This POS murders an unarmed 17 yr old boy, claiming Trayvon attacked him. So, is he going to pull a gun the first time his opponent lands a punch?

The fight promoter had second thoughts about this and realized what a sleazeball he was and cancelled this weeks ago. why is this still listed as news? Or why isn’t there a disclaimer saying it was cancelled?
