George Zimmerman is auctioning off the gun he used to kill Trayvon Martin

During an interview with Florida’s WOGX, George Zimmerman said that he’s auctioning off the gun he used to kill Trayvon Martin, the black teenager whose murder Zimmerman was acquitted of in 2013.

He said it was time to “move past the firearm” that the Justice Department recently returned to him.

“They’re not going to be bidding on it, so I couldn’t care less about them,” Zimmerman said of his critics. “I’m a free American. I can do what I like with my possessions.”

From Gawker:

In the auction description, Zimmerman calls the gun “a piece of American History” and makes multiple references to his perceived enemies, including “B. Hussein Obama.”

“The firearm for sale is the firearm that was used to defend my life and end the brutal attack from Trayvon Martin,” writes Zimmerman in the auction’s description. “I am proud to announce that a portion of the proceeds will be used to: fight BLM violence against Law Enforcement officers, ensure the demise of Angela Correy’s persecution career and Hillary Clinton’s anti-firearm rhetoric.”
