House Democrat: Stephen Miller should be ‘behind bars’ for human rights violations

This Wednesday, Rep. Veronica Escobar (D-TX) appeared on The Intercept’s Deconstructed podcast and called for former adviser to the Trump administration, Stephen Miller, to be thrown in prison for human rights violations regarding Donald Trump’s zero tolerance policy on immigration.

Escobar, who sits on the House Judiciary Committee, said Miller should be “behind bars.”

“I think he committed heinous human rights violations, and I think that those around him [who] helped plot this out should be held accountable, as well,” she said.

Escobar acknowledged that convicting Miller for human rights violations wouldn’t be easy, “but it kills me that these people could potentially walk away and even potentially rebuild their reputations,” she said.

“I find them to be just among the most reprehensible, abhorrent people that our generation could have ever produced,” she added.
