Jake Tapper kicks Stephen Miller off CNN: ‘There’s one viewer you care about right now’

Top Trump advisor Stephen Miller appeared on CNN this Sunday and attempted to defend his Dear Leader against growing concern that he’s mentally unfit for the presidency. In his exchange with host Jake Tapper, Miller’s usual snide persona was replaced with insecure combativeness, as he tried to filibuster and take control of the interview. Tapper was having none of it.

Greg Evans of Deadline characterized it best, saying that “Miller’s performance was truly one for the Trump ages. … an attack mode that’s rarely been seen since Ramsay Bolton got eaten by his own killer dogs on Game of Thrones.

Tapper brought up Michael Wollf’s bombshell book Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House, which Miller dismissed as “trash” and a “gross work of fiction.” He also attempted to diminish the role of Steve Bannon in the White House (Bannon has since fallen out of favor with the President).

Throughout the interview, Miller dodged the specifics of Tapper’s question and kept regurgitating White House talking points. After about 12 minutes, Tapper had enough and cut Miller off.

“I get it,” Tapper said. “There is one viewer that you care about right now and you’re being obsequious, you’re being a factotum in order to please him. And I think I’ve wasted enough of my viewers’ time. Thank you.”

Naturally, Miller’s audience approved:
