Jim Bakker: ‘Trump is going through exactly what the government did to me’

On the The Jim Bakker Show yesterday, host Jim Bakker was having a discussion with right-wing preacher Lance Wallnau, where the two talked about President Trump’s legal troubles — legal troubles that Bakker apparently identifies with.

According to Bakker, Trump is the victim of a witch hunt conducted by the U.S. government, a similar kind of with hunt that sent Bakker to prison for fraud in the 1980s.

“What Trump is going through is exactly what happened to me,” Bakker said in a video flagged by Right Wing Watch. “And how they run it, how they do it — and then the parole board looked me in the eye and said, ‘Jim, we believe that you’re not guilty,’ it shook all the way to Washington.”

“Washington could not tolerate the fact that the board had said I was not guilty,” Bakker continued. “They did everything they could to make me stay two more years in prison after that.”

“When the government wants to get somebody, they get them … You can’t just do that to a president, but we’re letting it happen.”

But Wallnau told Bakker not to worry.

“If you touch God’s anointed, then you open yourself up to equal treatment,” Wallnua said, suggesting that a reckoning is coming for the way Trump is being treated. ‘

“Here’s what God does,” Wallnau continued. “Hollywood wants to judge Trump — Weinstein scandal and the entire Hollywood industry gets exposed. New York Times journalists want to go after him — boom, from Charlie Rose all the way to [Matt Lauer].”

“People miss this,” Wallnau said. “It’s the wrecking ball of heaven.”
