Judge confronts Ammon Bundy at town meeting: ‘It’s time for you to go home!’

Ammon Bundy and his merry crew of armed militia members decided to crash a town meeting in Harney County, Oregon. Bundy, who believes his cowboys can roll into town and take over as long as they have weapons, was very much unwelcome at this town meeting.

(I’m confused as to why they’re allowed to come and go from the occupied building as they please.)

According to the Oregonian, Bundy planned to talk to the town about what they were doing, but they never got the opportunity. Judge Steven Grasty, who Bundy believes should be arrested and tried for treason, was especially not having it.

“Let me be very clear,” Grasty told the Bundy Occupy Crew at the meeting, “I will meet you any place outside my county. It is time for you to go home.”

The entire room erupted in applause. Some stood in solidarity. After several more comments from other residents of Harney County — one woman pointed out that the schools had closed because of the safety threat posed by the occupiers, while another simply said to “get the hell out” — Bundy and the Armed Federal Building Occupiers left the meeting without saying much of anything.

Some people did side with the Bundys, but for the most part even those sympathetic to their cause wanted them to leave.

I look forward to when the confused cowboy cohort Bundy & Co. finally leave with their tails tucked behind their legs. Yes, they should go to jail, but that’s obviously not in the cards.
