In a moving piece on CNN, a Trump voter said he feels betrayed by President Trump now that programs that help him survive in a scarce job market are facing cuts.
Speaking to CNN, Wesley Easterling of Kentucky talked about the “charisma” that drew him to Trump, and how just felt “different from other politicians. The county he lives in went for Trump, despite having one of the highest poverty rates in the U.S.
“I mean, I felt just like I was — just like he played me for a fool,” he said with a look of sadness in his eyes. “I mean, I kind of took it personal.”
He added that “without a doubt” he’d vote for Hillary Clinton if he had the chance to do it again.
