Kyle Rittenhouse: ‘I don’t regret it’

Speaking out publicly for the first time since being charged in the August 25 shooting deaths of two people during unrest in Kenosha, Wisconsin, Kyle Rittenhouse says he regrets nothing.

“I was going into a place where people had guns, and God forbid somebody brought a gun to me and tried to shoot me,” Rittenhouse told the Washington Post. “So, I like wanted to be protected and I ended up having to protect myself.”

Rittenhouse says he showed up that night to protect businesses and provide first aid to people.

According to Rittenhouse, he was just protecting himself when he killed two people and wounded another.

“No I don’t regret it. I feel I had to protect myself. I feel like I would have died if I didn’t,” he said.
