Senator Lindsey Graham went on The Daily Show last night to talk about his surprising “endorsement” of Ted Cruz.
“I’m on the Ted train, absolutely. What’s not to like?” Graham said, breaking into giggling after realizing what he just said. After laughs were had between Graham and host Trevor Noah, they cut to a clip of Graham trashing Ted Cruz. “If you killed Ted Cruz on the floor of the Senate and the trial was in the Senate, nobody could convict you.”
After seeing himself, Graham continued to giggle. Noah asked whether it’s safe to assume that Graham isn’t a fan of the GOP candidate, to which Graham responded, “It tells you everything you need to know about Donald Trump.”
“I don’t dislike Ted. We have a lot of differences…I’m getting better at this,” Graham clarified, at which point they both burst into laughter. Graham added, “He was my fifteenth choice. What can I say?”
