Marsha Blackburn bends time and space to avoid answering question about preexisting conditions

During an interview with CNN’s Brianna Keilar, Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) went to great pains to avoid answering whether the GOP’s healthcare plan would mean higher premiums for people with preexisting conditions.

For the entire segment, Keilar asked Blackburn the same question: Can she pledge that people won’t be charged higher premiums for preexisting conditions under the GOP’s American Healthcare Act as opposed to Obamacare.

“Can you assure them their premiums won’t rise as a result of this legislation?” Keliar asked.

“Look at the promises that were made by then-President Obama,” Blackburn countered, trying to shift the conversation.

“But what about your plan?” Keilar pressed. “Now it’s your plan. Now there’s a plan you have voted on.”

The back-and-forth continued throughout the segment, to the point where Blackburn chose to talk over the CNN host rather than answer.

“All right, Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn, thank you so much,” Keilar said, adding a hint of sarcasm. “Hope to have you back and get an answer to that question. We do appreciate it.”

“I gave you one,” Blackburn responded.
