Mexico’s biggest airline trolls Trump and offers Americans ‘DNA Discounts’

In an ad campaign that has gone viral, Mexico’s biggest airline, AeroMexico, took a jab at President Trump and rolled out a new “DNA Discounts” program.

The airline is offering discounts for passengers traveling from the U.S. to Mexico if they have Mexican ancestry. The higher the ancestry, the bigger the discount.

“Mexico’s first destination is America, but America’s first destination is not Mexico,” the ad states. “So we went to a typical American town to ask why they don’t consider Mexico an option to travel to.”

The ad then shows residents of Wharton, Texas (about 300 miles north of the Mexican border) sharing some negative opinions about Mexico.

“Let me stay here in peace and let those folks stay on their side of the border,” one resident said in the ad.

Citing data from the Department of Homeland Security, the airline pointed out that immigration on the southern border dates back to the 1800s.

“Meaning that a big percentage of Mexican ascendants in the U.S.A. doesn’t even know it yet. So we did a DNA test to prove it and turn those results into discounts.”

“I love discounts!” one of the ad’s participants says.

The ad ends with the tagline, “There are no borders within us.”
