NRA on the Defensive After Al Qaeda Spokesman Praises America’s Lack of Background Checks (VIDEO)

In a report from BuzzFeed this week, an American-born spokesman for Al Qaeda praised the fact that guns could be easily obtained in the United States without background checks.

In a video circulating the internet and jihadi forums, Adam Gadahn calls for Muslims living in the U.S. to carry out terrorist attacks, reminiscent of the Mumbai attacks in India from 2008.

“Let’s take America as an example,” Gadahn said. “America is absolutely awash with easily obtainable firearms. You can go down to a gun show at the local convention center and come away with a fully automatic assault rifle, without a background check, and most likely without having to show an identification card. So what are you waiting for?”

Not surprisingly, this development has the NRA on the defensive in light of its unwavering opposition to background checks. On an airing of the show Cam & Company on NRA News, host Cam Edwards accused BuzzFeed reporter Andrew Kaczynski of “approvingly citing Al Qaeda to bolster gun control arguments,” and asked, “I wonder when Buzzfeed is going to start citing Al Qaeda’s pop culture criticism of the United States too?”
