Pat Robertson on Mueller indictments: Trump should ‘shut this thing down’ with a ‘blanket pardon’

Speaking on his 700 Club TV program this Monday morning, Pat Robertson had some *questionable* advice for the Trump administration in the wake of the indictments of his former campaign officials by special counsel Robert Mueller.

According to Robertson, Trump should just issue a blanket pardon for everyone implicated in Mueller’s investigation.

The televangelist turned to the claim that the investigation is “tainted” by the Clinton campaign’s alleged funding of the Steele dossier, and that former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort was snagged by Mueller on a “technical violation.”

Robertson then mentioned President Trump’s “power.”

“He can grant a pardon to everybody involved in this thing if he wants to,” Robertson said. “And there’s no such thing as the president ‘obstructing justice’ if he talks to one of his people in the Justice Department. … So, this whole thing has got to be shut down.”

“I think he has every right to shut Mueller down and say, ‘You’ve gone as far as you need to, and I have instructed my Justice Department to close you down.'”

“He can do it,” Robertson continued, referring to Trump. “…he can grant a blanket pardon for everybody involved in everything, and say, ‘All right, I pardon them all,’ you know — case closed, it’s all over.”
