Reservations at Trump Hotels have plummeted to more than half

According to the Daily Mail, bookings at Trump Hotels have dropped more than half since the presumptive GOP nominee launched his campaign.

Donald Trump’s popularity among his fans is stronger than ever, but the market for the hotels that bear his name seems to be dwindling – to a drop of about 59 percent year-on-year.

From the Daily Mail:

In the first three months of 2015 – long before Trump declared he was running for the White House – Trump Hotels had a market share of 1.7 per cent of bookings made in major cities where they are located.

In Q1 this year, Trump Hotels have just 0.7 per cent of the market share of bookings made through Hipmunk.

That fall represents a 59.3 per cent fall year-on-year.

Trump has seen a hit even in his stronghold of Atlantic City, with a 17 percent drop in reservations.

It is possible that Trump’s bombastic campaigning – which has seen him call for a ban on Muslim immigrants and insist he is going to make Mexico pay to build a wall on the border – has taken a toll on the popularity of his hotel chain.

Looks like The Donald might have to add a few more bankruptcies to his name.
