Sarah Huckabee Sanders lies to the press: ‘Trump is not a liar’

In response to former FBI Director James Comey’s assertion that President Trump was telling “lies, plain and simple” about his firing last month, White House Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters one of the biggest lies of all, saying, “the President is not a liar.”

“No, I can definitively say the president is not a liar,” Sanders told reporters at the White House this Thursday, according to POLITICO. “It’s frankly insulting that that question would be asked.”

During his testimony on Thursday, Comey recounted his frustration over the narrative pushed by the White House regarding his firing last month. “It confused me when I saw the president on TV saying he actually fired me because of the Russian investigation,” Comey testified. “I was also confused by the initial explanation offered publicly that I was fired because of decisions I’d made during the election. … That didn’t make any sense to me.”

In what was some of his most forceful testimony, Comey accused the Trump administration of flat-out lying when it claimed the FBI as a whole was dissatisfied with Comey’s leadership.

“The administration then chose to defame me and more importantly the FBI, by saying the organization was poorly led,” the ex-FBI chief said. “Those were lies, plain and simple.”

When reporters asked Sanders if Trump still had confidence in his Cabinet, she said “Absolutely,” which in all likelihood is another lie.
