As Sarah Silverman asked for unity in the Democratic Party at the Democratic National Convention today, a chorus of boos erupted from Bernie Sanders supporters.
As she was joined on the stage by her fellow SNL alum Senator Al Franken, a clearly frustrated Silverman told the jeering crowd, “Can I just say – to the Bernie or Bust people, you’re being ridiculous.”
“Hillary is our Democratic nominee and I will proudly vote for her,” she added.
The boos continued, and the pair were told by DNC organizers to “stretch for time” before they introduced the next convention guest, Paul Simon.
