Pastor Kevin Swanson, who called for the execution of gay people just moments before introducing Ted Cruz during a speech last year, attacked the Girl Scouts of America for supporting LGBTQ rights.

During  his radio/podcast show last week, Swanson told his followers that Girl Scouts leaders are violating the teachings of Jesus by “promoting” homosexuality and that it would be better for someone to “hang a millstone around their neck and thrown into the sea rather than cause a child to sin.”

Swanson would later make it clear that his instructions should be taken literally and told followers that they’ve “got to take what [God] says and you have to apply it.”

He criticized the Girl Scouts in the past for “promoting lesbianism” and movies like “Harry Potter” and “How To Train Your Dragon” for featuring “homosexual mentors provided to little boys.” At the rally with Cruz, Swanson told the audience that people must put into effect Jesus’ teaching against debasing children with such “movies that promote homosexuality or organizations that promote homosexuality,”according to RWW.

Swanson also praised Evangelical minister Franklin Graham for calling on Christians to boycott Girl Scout cookies due to their acceptance of transgender members. He also stated that Graham was “being persecuted by the gay borg” for his “courageous stand.”

It is unfortunate that you continue to be the Fox News of religion, consistently finding the bizarre and presenting it as norm. Christianity is pretty much balanced, much like the culture it serves, in being nearly half supportive to gay rights and half against gay rights. Unfortunately, anyone reading this bias page would never know reality. You out Fox, Fox News.

The problem, Tom, is that the US has more than its fair share of religious extremists and nut cases. When they become involved in the political process this is surely a legitimate topic to raise.

So your point is that because some people don’t call for the death of innocents, it shouldn’t be reported on? Is that really the point you are making?? Go away, you’ve made everyone dumber for having listened to you.

It works both ways. Then Fox News has the right to do the same. However, all this does is create polarities. Why not focus on the ways in which religious groups are trying to make bridges? Thousands of churches feeding poor. No idea how many clergy each weekend are risking their ordination marrying gay couples. These are just some examples. Strangely, this page can only bash religion.

These are individuals who would like to lead our government and are supporting violence against our citizens based on race, ethnicity, gender, and sexual orientation. As a Christian, I am delighted that someone is calling them out – ’cause it sure won’t be the standard media outlets.

The people who misuse religion to call for the murder for others to support their skewed, deranged interpretation of their book is bad religion whether it be Christianity, Islam, Hindu, or any other. Corrupt people trying to control others via hate and fear is bad religion.

No one argues that this is bad religion. This is also the publicity that they are seeking.
