The hypocrisy of Fox News on North Korea summed up in one video

A video depicting how Fox News frames diplomacy with North Korea depending on who’s president is going hugely viral.

The video, produced my the media outlet NowThis, shows Fox hosts railing against former President Obama for saying he would meet with dictators from other countries that are adversarial towards the U.S., then showing the exact opposite take from Fox hosts in the era of Trump, who recently said that he’d sit down for a face-to-face meeting with Kim Jong-un.

The video featured Fox personalities like Sean Hannity, Steve Doocy and Geraldo Rivera, slamming Obama for suggesting he could meet with leaders from Iran and North Korea without preconditions. Many of the same personalities are then shown praising Trump’s potential sit-down with NK as a “win” worthy of the Nobel Peace Prize.

According to Geraldo, Trump’s move was “breathtaking,” “audacious” and “bold,” and potentially “historic.”

Hannity, who was formerly incensed over Obama’s comments about meeting with dictators, said of Trump, “The world will probably be a little bit safer. The media should be giving President Trump credit for that.”

Last week, North Korea invited Trump to meet and discuss the regime’s nuclear ambitions — an invite that Trump readily accepted the offer. If the meeting happens, it would be the first time a sitting U.S. president has met with a North Korean leader.
