The New York Daily News just called out the NRA in a powerful way

The front page of Wednesday’s New York Daily News delivers a bold condemnation of the National Rifle Association, by directly comparing them to Jihadists.

The tabloid’s cover boldly criticizes the “NRA’s Sick Jihad,” in unmissable gigantic typeface. The story says the gun rights group has been implicitly supporting the arming of terrorists by blocking strategic legislation that would improve public safety. The bill would make it harder for terror suspects to buy firearms in the U.S.

The Denying Firearms and Explosives to Dangerous Terrorists Act of 2015, known formally as H.R. 1076, was introduced in February. It  includes a ban on the “sale or distribution of firearms or explosives to any individual whom the Attorney General has determined to be engaged in terrorist activities.”

The earliest version of the bill was originally introduced under the Bush Administration in 2007, but it has not been signed into law yet. According to the Daily News story, over 2,000 suspects on the FBI’s terrorist watch list have been able to legally purchase weapons in the United States during the last decade.

The Daily News piece begins with an uncompromising statement against the National Rifle Association.
“The NRA—and their gun-loving Republican cohorts—are refusing once more to stop terrorists intent on getting armed in the U.S.A.”
