This photographer combines photos of people who are related for ‘Genetic Portraits’

While in the middle of a project, Canada-based photographer and graphic designer Urlic Collete used Photoshop to age an image of his son, but accidentally ended up splicing together photographs of himself and the boy (the first picture in the list below).

The mishap inspired an ongoing series called “Genetic Portraits,” which combines the faces of people who are related. Amazingly, the resulting portraits look surprisingly normal, revealing how aesthetically similar we are to our next of kin.
