During an appearance on the The Steve Malzberg Show, former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay broke the news that Americans have “gotten over” slavery and Jim Crow, except for a particular “professional racist” named Barack Obama.
DeLay slammed Obama’s appearance on The Daily Show this Monday night where he said that although America has made “extraordinary” progress in regards to racism, we still haven’t overcome its terrible legacy.
According to DeLay, Obama should speak for himself.
“This is just unbelievable,” DeLay said. “You know, he’s never gotten over his racism. Many of us, in fact, I think the entire country has gotten over slavery and Jim Crow and all of that; it’s the professional racists like Obama and his buddies that can’t get over it because then they’re totally irrelevant.”
He added that Obama and progressives want to keep racism alive so “they can continue their welfare programs that keep people on plantations and dependent on the government” because they know that while there might be a few isolated racists in the country, everyone else has “gotten over slavery and Jim Crow.”
