Triumph the Insult Comic Dog to Ted Cruz: ‘I support spaying and neutering just like Trump did to you’

In a segment for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert this Monday night, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog went on assignment to cover campaign rallies for Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) and his Democratic opponent, Rep. Beto O’Rourke — and he took an opportunity remind Cruz that Trump has pocketed his balls.

The segment started out with Triumph giving O’Rourke an underhanded compliment, saying, “I love the way you are anybody but Ted Cruz.”

“What does Ted Cruz have that you don’t have, besides the ability to regenerate his tail?” Triumph asked.

When he got to Cruz’s rally, Triumph (who’s voiced by comedian Robert Smigel) was able to garner Cruz’s attention and the two had an exchange.

“Ted, is it true you will defend the Constitution at all costs except for when Donald Trump calls it ugly on Twitter?” Triumph asked Cruz.

“I love the Constitution — and Twitter is Twitter,” Cruz responded.

“Let’s be civil here, because this man — nobody should be yelling at this man in a public place,” Triumph interjected, still addressing Cruz. “I mean, doesn’t this man have the right to sit down in a restaurant and enjoy a meal that five waiters have spit in?”

Cruz managed to get in a dig himself.

“Just remember: It wasn’t the Republicans, it was the Democrats that took you into the vet to get fixed, and there is freedom on the other side,” Cruz quipped. But Triumph had a response locked and loaded.

“I support spaying and neutering, just like Trump did to you!”
