Beverly Hills Real Estate Agent Lauren Houston was fired from her realtor group after it was discovered that she had posted racist pro-Trump comments on an Instagram post, according to a report from Fox 11.
Houston, going under the screen name “lolohouston” made several disparaging comments towards Mexican and black people in the comment section of a post from activist group Black and Brown United for Change, saying, “Get these thugs out of our country… we need a wall… are you kidding!!! Go Trump.” She then referenced an African-American women’s hairstyle, saying “Her thing on her head…Ew.” Her last comment called Mexican people “dirty”.
After Houston’s employer, Sam Real, owner of Sam Real group, got wind of the hateful comments, she was fired immediately.
“At the Sam Real Group, we believe that every individual no matter what their skin color, race or ethnicity is equal in every way,”Real said in a statement. “We do not tolerate hateful or racist speech in regards to the comments made by a member employed by Sam Real Group. The employee in question has been terminated from the group. Again, on our behalf please accept our apologies.”
Los Angeles resident Alexander Juarez, who initially discovered Houston’s comments, said that Real made the right decision in firing Houston, adding that hateful rhetoric needs to be stopped and that people should be held accountable for their actions. Fox11 has reached out to Houston for comment, but there has been no word back.
