Trump voters having second thoughts: ‘I don’t believe he just tweeted that’

During a CNN focus group segment this week, a group of Trump voters expressed their frustration with the President’s White House habits, namely his tweeting.

Although the panel seemed to agree that President Trump‘s tweeting was a way for him to circumvent what he believes to be adversarial media, most felt that he needs to tone it down.

“Donald Trump’s story is that he’s reacting immediately,” focus group member Ray Starner said. “It’s a knee-jerk reaction.

“If you want to be ‘The Apprentice,’ step down and let someone else run the country,” said Scott McCommons. “He needs to be presidential. Plain and simple.”

McCommons added that Trump’s claims of wiretapping anger him because he knows Trump knows it’s not true.

“Show us the proof, don’t tweet it,” McCommons said. “Nobody got in that building and set up wiretaps … he knows it. He won’t admit it, and that’s the kind of stuff that angers me. That’s unpresidential.”

“I did see it on a major news channel and I remember the first thing I said to my significant other was ‘I don’t believe he just tweeted that,’” Mark Hanna said of Trump’s tweets.
