VIDEO: John McCain tells CNN that GOP threats to defund Obamacare are ‘not rational’

Appearing on CNN this Thursday, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) said that it is simply irrational for GOP politicians to think they can overturn the Affordable Care Act.

Appearing on CNN this Thursday, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) said that it is simply irrational for GOP politicians to think they can overturn the Affordable Care Act.

“I can tell you that in the U.S. Senate — we will not repeal or defund Obamacare,” McCain told CNN’s Jake Tapper. “And to think we can is not rational.”

McCain’s comments reflect a growing divide among House Republicans, after Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said on the same day that he would stage a talking filibuster to block a spending bill that funds Obamacare. In an interesting development this week, House Republicans are calling on Senators Cruz, Rand Paul (R-KY) and Mike Lee (R-UT) to make good on their threats and defund the law, since they feel the protracted rhetoric is doing more harm to the GOP than good.

Unfortunately, none of the TEApubs are going to listen to him, I can’t even estimate the number of them who have told me that he is “just another RINO.” They have no concept of reality.

Mr. McCain seems to suddenly understand that he won’t have a party after 2014 if the current path is continued.

Well it”s wonderful that McCain is telling the truth but we shouldn’t all pat on the back. He was instrumental in starting the tea party when he cursed our country with Sarah Palin, who I called the Queen of the Tea Party.
