Here’s an interesting scenario to think about: You’re trapped in the woods, and all you have is a mobile phone and your ability to make fire. Since you’re a 21st Century person you’re likely have no survival skills, so your only hope to get help lies with your cellphone — which is dead.
Thanks to a new invention from the company FlameStower, heat from a fire can now be used to power a generator, which in turn will charge your phone. Just by simply filling a compartment with water and then placing a sensor near a fire, the FlameStower coverts excess heat into electricity.
The product is currently just a Kickstarter idea, but due to what looks to be some healthy finding, it’ll most likely be in production someday soon.
