Legendary German documentary filmmaker Werner Herzog has teamed up with AT&T to produce a series of short films, warning people about the dangers of texting and driving.
“What AT&T proposed immediately clicked and connected inside of me,” Herzog said in an interview with the Associated Press. “There’s completely a new culture out there. I’m not a participant of texting and driving — or texting at all — but I see there’s something going on in civilization which is coming with great vehemence at us.”
The final product of Herzog’s work is stunning. The film focuses on four incidents, some of them fatal, allowing both victims and perpetrators to describe in detail their experiences.
More than 40,000 high schools and hundreds of safety organizations and government agencies will show the film.
