Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump has reportedly been nominated for the 2016Nobel Peace Prize.
According to Agence France-Presse, Trump will join a host of nominees that include Greek islanders helping migrants, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Pope Francis.
Director of the Peace Research Institute of Oslo, Kristian Berg Harpviken, said he received a nomination letter saying Trump deserves the prize for his:
“Vigorous peace through strength ideology, used as a threat weapon of deterrence against radical Islam, ISIS, nuclear Iran and Communist China.”
Harpviken said that the Nobel Institute accepts “all valid nominations” from around the world however, “having one’s name on the list is not to be taken as a sign of approval.”

CBS News said that It is not clear who might have submitted the nomination for billionaire real estate mogul. However, Trump’s nomination for the award had to of been submitted before Feb. 1, which is the same day he was humbled by a surprising second-place finish in the Republican Iowa caucus.
